 Introduction

After Lord Krishna departed from this world, Kaliyuga began. As the Dvapara Yuga ended, Brahma turned his back on Earth, leading to the emergence of unrighteousness. This unrighteousness gave rise to desires, anger, greed, arrogance, and other vices, which combined to form Kaliyuga.

 Characteristics of Kaliyuga

In Kaliyuga, Brahmins will lose their knowledge of the Vedas. Women will follow men, and people will abandon religious practices like worship, fasting, and rituals. Young people will age quickly, and society will be rife with unnecessary conflicts. The poor will be exploited, and even judges will be weak and unable to deliver justice.

 The Decline of Righteousness

Brahmins will dine at the homes of Shudras out of greed, clouds will bring erratic rain, and kings will exploit their subjects, driving them into debt and forcing them into forests. During Kaliyuga's initial phase, people will become blasphemous. As the yuga progresses, they will forget God entirely, leading to the birth of mixed castes and ultimately the loss of all social and religious norms.

 The Arrival of Lord Kalki

To restore Dharma, the gods will pray to Brahma, who, along with other deities, will appeal to Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu will promise to incarnate in the village of Sambhal in the home of a Brahmin named Vishnuyasha and his wife Sumati. According to Kalki Purana, on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of the month of Vaishakha, Lord Vishnu will be born on Earth.

 Education and Training

At the appropriate age, Vishnuyasha will send his sons, including Kalki, to study the Vedas. Kalki will question his father about the Vedas and Savitri, to which his father will explain that the Vedas are the words of Brahma and Savitri is a significant part of them.

Kalki will then seek a guru and will be guided by Parashurama, who resides on Mount Mahendra. Parashurama will teach Kalki the Vedas and the art of warfare. Upon completion of his education, Kalki will receive divine weapons from Lord Shiva after performing intense penance.

 The Love Story and Marriages

Kalki's first wife, Padma, will be a princess with a remarkable story. Granted a boon by Lord Shiva, she awaits Kalki. Her Swayamvara (a ceremony where a princess chooses her husband) will be disrupted by the transformation of suitors into women due to a boon.

Shukadeva, a divine parrot, will convey messages between Padma and Kalki. Eventually, Kalki will arrive at Singhal to marry Padma, overcoming various challenges.

The Grand Battle and Establishing Satyuga

After his marriage, Kalki will set out to defeat the malevolent forces of Kaliyuga. With the divine weapons from Lord Shiva and the guidance of his guru Parashurama, Kalki will wage a mighty war against the forces of Kali, culminating in the restoration of Dharma and the establishment of Satyuga.

The End of Kaliyuga and Kalki's Departure

In the end, Kalki will establish Satyuga, bringing peace and righteousness back to Earth. The story concludes with the circumstances leading to the end of Kalki's earthly life, ensuring that Dharma remains established for the forthcoming yuga.
